Ashby de la Zouch Castle ruins
Case Studies: Ashby de la Zouch Castle

Originally a 12th century stone fortified manor house, in 1474 Ashby Castle gained a courtyard fortress, four storey machicolated square keep, seven storey extension, chapel and curtain wall. Consequently, large amounts of stonework, lime pointing, flaunching, galleting and filleting were required to consolidate these extensive castle ruins.
